It was one of those usual weekends after a lot of work on weekdays. The Syclovia, the name itself sounded very interest, was a cycling event on Sunday, 21st Sep, 2014 started by Giant Starkenn. Though it was a cycling event, it had more than just cycling. The main purpose was to ride from Langford Town, Hosur Main Road to Phoenix Marketcity, Mahadevapura, but it also had some fun events like zumba, yoga, music and whole lot of fun. And the more interesting thing was that, the event was to be started at 5am in the early morning in the Bangalore climate. After I saw this meetup in BCG blog, I decided that I would go for it and thought that weekend fun was waiting for me.

Nandi Hills - A first long bicycle ride
The first time when I thought of going to Nandi hills was exactly 3 months ago, when BCG arranged a Midnight ride on the same day (13th) in June month. But unfortunately I couldn't go for that ride because of some reasons. I was very interested in joining them, but when I couldn't, I thought I would definitely join the next time they arrange and I was waiting for it. Then I saw a notification from BCG that they are arranging a ride to Nandi hills on 13 Sep, but it was a day ride this time. This was the plan in short.
1. Silkboard - 5:00AM
2. MG road Metro Station: 5:30 AM
3. Hebbal Circle (Esteem mall) : 6:30 AM (Stop 10 mins for all to join)
4. Border Security Force: 7:15 AM
5. Airport Tollgate: 8:00 AM (Stop 10 mins for all to join)6. Nandi Base Entrance: 9:30 AM, finish the climb once and get down ASAP - Just to do it all over again :D. You can expect to reach home by late lunch, it depends on where you stay and how fast you are. If you're too tired you can quit after just one hill climb.
The return journey to Bangalore will be by the individual pace of the rider. You have the liberty to take the shortest possible route to reach back home.

Mekedatu - A short day trip
We needed to go out somewhere after the Hampi trip was cancelled. The plan to go to Mekedatu was first told to me when I was in office on Thursday evening, but we weren't sure about it. It was confirmed late night on the same day. The plan was to take the car from Kumar house at 8am, come to EGL to pick me up and reach to Kanakapura road via BTM.
I went there previously but not till Mekedatu place, there is this place called Sangama where Arkavati river merges with Kaveri river, that's why it's called Sangama. Tourists vehicles can go only till this place, from there you need to cross the river by coracles (small circular boats), one can accommodate around 6 people. There will be a bus (now 3 buses) on the other side of the river Arkavati, which takes you to Mekedatu place which is 4 kilometers from there. There will be no other transportation except the bus and jeep, so you can imagine the crowd. So when I went there before, we were managed to go only till Sangama, we didn't cross the river, the water was very less though at that time. This time I was eager to go there and go to the other side of the river, and if possible we could trek those 4 kilometers to reach Mekedatu.

Elagiri hills - Excellent ride
The clock was ticking 4:08am. I heard some sound ringing in my mind. I thought it was in my dream (yes, I was sleeping). But I had to wake up with that sound just to know that it was my alarm, and what I saw was a note in my phone said - time to get ready for Elagiri hills ride. That was how my day started. Yes, today we planned to go for Elagiri hills ride and I was very excited about it.
As planned, we had to be there at Electronic Phase 2 bus depot by 5:45am which was our meeting point, so we could start by 6am. I went to Jeevan Bheema nagar around just past 5am to pick up my pillion rider Harinath. It was cold outside, but with my jackets, I didn't feel much cold. I picked him and started to Electronic City. The roads were clear with very less traffic, and we were there by 5:30am. There were two people already waiting, Swateek (Honda-Unicorn) along with Sunita. We met them and waited for the rest. We were waiting for Virander who is our coordinator today. One of after the other came the rest, Arurag (Pulsar 200NS), Deep (Honda-CB Trigger), Ranjan. We had some get-to-know-each other talks. Then came our coordinator Virander on his bike - can you imagine, IT'S Harley-Davidson :-). Unbelievable. I have seen his pictures in Google+ posing on his same bike. But I didn't think he would bring it for this ride and riding along with Harley-Davidson (1,600 CC, 300 kg) was going to be an awesome experience. We exchanged hais and names, but I was just staring at his bike, probably others as well :-P. Then finally came Sandeep with Shwetha. We were 10 in total with 7 bikes. We had a small official intro. It was first long distance ride for most of them. We had discussed and agreed on safety rules that must be followed through out the trip. Vinander being in the front to lead and Anurag took the responsibility of sweeper and would come at the last.

Antaragange (ಅಂತರಗಂಗೆ) - Adventures
It
had been almost a month since we had gone out on a trip to outside
Bangalore. The last time we had gone was the fantastic Kerala trip. This
time we planned to go on a day trip on bikes to a place, around
Bangalore within 100 km. Madhu was more interested and had been asking us (Rahul and
me) to plan one this weekend. Even I was interested in going to an
adventurous trip :-). Rahul and me decided last night that we cloud go
to Antaragange, a trekking hill place 70 km far from Bangalore towards
Kolar. We decided to start at 8:30am on Saturday as Madhu had some work
till 8:30am.
I woke up by 8am (of course with alarm ;-)), got ready by 8:30am. The time was past 8:30am and hadn't received any call from anyone. The weather seemed so cool and nice as if God listened our prayers. I hoped it would be cloudy and windy all the day. We were afraid how the weather would to today, but we were lucky. There was no trace of Sun though the time is reaching 9am.
I called Shiva, after looked at the missed call yesterday night, he asked me about the plan and I told him I was waiting for a call, I would let him know about it. I then called Rahul and asked him about the plan, he said, yes and he was getting ready and he would let me know when he starts along with Abhi. After few minutes, Vani called me and asked if I was going to the trip. She told she initially refused to come as she had some work. She was now ready to come, told me to let her know when we were ready. She also told me to not to tell others that she was coming, to give surprise, I thought ;-).
